Description
Malhadinha Nova is a typical Alentejo family estate situated in Albernoa, a small village ln the heart of 'Baixo' Alentejo. It is a place of freedom and endless horizons. Since 1998, the family’s passion and commitment have transformed a long-abandoned land into fields that give life to genuine, high-quality Alentejo produce. The wines are disconcerting by their freshness, even though they come from a very warm region.
This has a deep ruby colour and is packed with plenty of red and blackberries, cassis and bitter chocolate, dark spices also with a hint of vanilla and herbs as well as some cured meat and iron. On the palate it is medium-bodied with finely structured, polished tannins and plenty of red fruit giving that sourcherry lift to the wine finishing with some zigar box flavours. This has real classy structure and balance - definitely worth exploring.
