Please come and join us on Northcote Road as we celebrate all things USA on the day before Thanksgiving! Given the great success of this event last year we want to extend an invitation to you to come back and do it all again.
We could do a tasting every day on wines of the USA and still barely scratch the surface; the incredible range of climates and terroirs produce a wonderfully diverse range of wines. If you are at all sceptical about the quality that the USA can offer, come and try some of our range on Wednesday 27th November - you won't be disappointed.

Antinori: A Tuscany Tasting

The Antinori family has been committed to the art of winemaking for over six centuries. We are delighted to show the wines of Antinori presented by Sophie McLean, Brand Manager. Join us in our Marylebone Enoteca for a guided tasting through the incredible wines from Antinori's Tuscan Estates. This is an amazing opportunity to taste wines from the heartland of this extraordinary estate representing some of the most prestigious appellations of Italy. Join us in the Battersea store as we step into the world of Champagne's oldest house. Ruinart is considered by many to be the jewel of Champagne, a symbol of timeless elegance and refinement since 1729. Discover its unique know-how marked by family tradition and pioneering spirit, and understand how each bottle of Ruinart is carefully crafted from ground to glass.

Champagne & English Sparkling Wine Tasting

What better way to embrace the festive spirit than by popping a few bottles of France’s best bubbly and England’s finest fizz?
Join us at Philglas & Swiggot Marylebone for a stellar line-up of sparkling wines from two of our favourite regions.
We’ll look at the wines and producers that have brought English Sparkling to global fame and secured the nation’s place at the top table of the fine wine world.
Each English wine will be served alongside (or against!) a Champagne in the same style, giving us a unique opportunity to compare different expressions of traditional method sparkling wine as they are produced in each region.
Can the English upstarts claim to be the toast of sparkling wine, or will Champagne reign supreme?
We’ll look at the similarities between the wines and discuss what makes each one unique. But most important of all, we’ll be sharing some of our favourite producers and pouring six truly exceptional sparkling wines for you to enjoy.

Terroir. What is it good for?

Why do wines from different countries taste so different, even when they're made from the same grape varieties? Join Tom and the gang at Philglas & Swiggot in Battersea to take a deep dive into the murky world of "terroir".
We'll examine the impact of climate, soil, viticulture and more by comparing the same grapes when they're grown in different regions across the world. Is Burgundy Chardonnay better than the Margaret River? Can South Africa bring us Cabernet Sauvignon to rival Bordeaux? New Wave Spain Wine Tasting

Spanish wine has undergone a quiet revolution in recent years and this exciting tasting will focus on the superstar winemakers who have led the way in reasserting Spain’s position as one of the hottest tickets in the fine wine world.
Join us on a journey through the new Spain, where an ambitious generation of winemakers is pushing the boundaries of quality in their respective regions and redefining our idea of what Spanish wine can be.
We’ll taste hidden gems from some of Spain’s oft-overlooked regions, where there is a remarkable variety of styles and depth of winemaking talent.
The tasting will conclude with flagship wines from the Remellurí estate in Rioja and Dominio del Águila of Ribera del Duero. Even in Spanish wine’s traditional household-name regions, there are winemakers who refuse to rest on their laurels, instead striving for excellence and defying expectations.

Burgundy Wine: Icons Uncorked

Join us for an evening exploring the wines of two celebrated Burgundy producers, with whites from Domaine Jean-Paul et Benoît Droin, based in Chablis, and reds from Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet, based in the Northern Côte-de-Nuits village of Fixin.
Focussing on two of the region’s star winemakers, Amélie Berthaut-Gerbet and Benoît Droin, we will explore what sets their wines apart and how they and others in the region have continued to innovate and push the boundaries of what Burgundy wine can achieve.
Domaine Jean-Paul et Benoît Droin boasts 400 years of winemaking history in the village of Chablis, but has risen to new heights of excellence under the stewardship of 14th-generation Benoît Droin to become one of the foremost domaines in the region, famed for consistently producing quality at every level of the appellation system.
Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet is another historic estate that has risen to global fame in recent years. Working in one of the Côte d’Or’s lesser-known villages, Amélie Berthaut-Gerbet makes stylish and captivating reds that showcase Fixin’s potential and are now among Burgundy’s most coveted wines.
This tasting will be a rare opportunity to enjoy and compare wines from different levels of the Burgundy appellation system side-by-side, from Regional level wines all the way up to Grand Cru. We will discuss the many factors that make Burgundy and its wines so renowned.
