Here at Philglas & Swiggot we are back up and running with our in store tasting events. Below is what we have planned so far, check back often as we are always adding new events at both our Battersea and Marylebone stores.
Join us for an evening of guided tasting of Meerlust Estate. Meerlust has been part of the Myburgh winemaking family for eight generations, beginning in 1756. We can also announce that Valeria Maffeis, the UK Meerlust brand manager will be our expert host for the evening.
Long recognized for producing world-class wines, we will be walking you through these charming wines of Meerlust Estate and exploring their rich history.
This tasting will be held in our Marylebone Store. Tickets can be purchased online or in store.
Philglas & Swiggot have been discovering extraordinary wines since 1991, a key region we have developed in this time is the wonderful wines from South Africa. To celebrate our Focus on South Africa wine month we will be opening a selection of 30+ wines to taste and enjoy from our favourite wineries.
This is a drop in style tasting which will be standing room only, we hope to see you there.
Germany is an amazing and often mis-understood wine growing country, from the best Rieslings in the world to Pinot Noir that can match the their more illustrious French neighbours, there is so many great wines to discover. Join us in store for an informative evening as the group will delve deeper into fascinating wines from all over Germany. Presented by German expert Andrea Bulcock from ABS Wine agencies, this will be an excellent event for those wishing to understand more about German wine.

Battersea Store, Tuesday 21st June @ 7:30 pm - £35
For this event we are very pleased to welcome our good friends from Greywacke in New Zealand to present their wines.
We will be showing the wine from renowned winemaker Kevin Judd and his Greywacke estate. Greywacke was created in 2009 by Kevin Judd, the person responsible for the ground-breaking early wines produced in Marlborough. His estate Greywacke Marlborough Sauvignon is the benchmark wine of the region and since Kevin also previously made Cloudy Bay; we think he knows a thing or two about Sauvignon Blanc.

Battersea Store, Wednesday 15th June @ 7:30 pm - £25
Another exciting tasting coming up in June, this time focusing on Portugal. Wines will be presented by our Portuguese wine expert James Hands, from Raymond & Reynolds. This time we will take you on a journey around a few different regions of the country to showcase some wonderful Portuguese wine.
Join us as James takes us on a journey through the very well-known Niepoort wines from the Douro Valley, whites from Alentejo and leading Dao region winemaker Quinta dos Roques. It’s sure to be a fun and knowledgeable event.
A tasting selection of eight wines will be presented.

Battersea store, Thursday 26th May @ 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm - £35
Join us on what promises to be an enjoyable and unforgettable evening with Pieter Walser showing his latest wines.
Seeing as Pieter makes so many eclectic wines, we thought a simple sit-down event wouldn't do it justice, so we are going to crack open over 12 of his wines for everyone to try. This is a casual standing event running from 6:30 pm onwards where Pieter will go through the wines and then be on hand to answer any questions and recant the captivating stories he is known for.

Another exciting tasting in our 'Meet the Winemaker Tasting Series'. We are very pleased to announce that winery General Manager Jim Adleman will be traveling from America to present this special event at Philglas & Swiggot.
The legendary Au Bon Climat is not just another label; it is a passion project for winemaker/owner Jim Clendenen. These are artisan, small lots of distinctive wines where commerce is not the driving force. As a result, they are some of the most exciting wines to come out of the region.
Join us as Jim takes us on a guided tasting through the Au Bon Climat range. We will walk you through the wines, the wine making process, and the Santa Monica region, along with some history of the late winemaker Jim' Wild Boy' Clendenen. It's sure to be a great event.

You now have the chance to taste wine from two of the most iconic Tuscany wine producers estates in modern history, Fontodi and Isole e Olena. In this tasting, we celebrate and explore their Classico Chianti and two unusual grapes for the region. We will end the tasting with their legendary super Tuscans, Flaccianello and Cepparello.

Dive into the incredible Italian wine making region of Piedmont with our expert host Bruno Besa, Managing Director of renowned Italian importer Astrum Wines. He will share his knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm for all things Italian during this tasting of Piedmontese wines, and will enlighten you about the wines and the growing number of enthusiastic growers to be found in this region today.

The Premium Australian Wine Tasting will explore all four corners of this vast country, taking in the sights, smells, and most importantly tastes along the way. Discover what's behind the label as our Australian Manager Cameron and industry expert Ben Donnadieu go through a selection of red, white, and sweet wines.
