Goisot has been the stand-out producer in Saint-Bris for many years but under the stewardship of the current generation: Ghislaine and Jean-Hugues Goisot, the quality of the wines has never been better. They firmly believe that you make better wine by respecting the environment, without using fertilisers, insecticides, weedkillers and synthetic chemicals, they stimulate the vine's self-defence, thus ensuring the best possible protection against problems caused by the climate or diseases. Controlled yields intensify the personality and taste of the grapes.
Picking the grapes only when they are ripe, Ghislaine and Jean-Hugues maximise the expression of the terroir, creating wines that embody the individuality and quality of each production site.
This cuvee rivals many a white Burgundy for texture and expression but at a fraction of the price. Made from Sauvignon Blanc from parcels with Exogyra Virgula fossil oysters in the soil. It has a golden colour with sparkling green reflections. On the nose, an intense aromatic expression of ripe fruit, citrus, pink grapefruit, mango, hawthorn, with a slightly iodized finish. On the palate, there is a background of minerality which gives it amazing purity and finesse and a slightly white spice and cinnamon finish. Exceptional!
