The Henschke family have been making wine at their estate in the Eden Valley since 1868. Fifth-generation winemaker Stephen Henschke took over running the winery in 1979. Together with his viticulturist wife Prue, they have taken their two single vineyards, Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone, and transformed them into two of Australia’s most sought-after wines. Through a combination of great viticulture from Prue, who is at the forefront of re-introducing native plants into their vineyards to improve biodiversity, and winemaking from Stephen, they have built upon their inheritance and turned this traditional producer into one that is recognised by savvy wine drinkers throughout the world.

Ruby red with garnet hues. Alluring aromas of wild red currant and raspberry, spiced cherry and Turkish delight with underlying nuances of rosehip, tobacco leaf and charcuterie. Surprisingly rich flavours of red cherry and wild strawberry with dried rosemary and spice complexity, sit upon a well-structured palate with a driving red currant acidity, enveloping core of fine-grained and creamy tannins, which persist for a beautifully long finish.

"Estate vineyard; matured 18 months in seasoned French oak hogsheads. Nebbiolo's more elegant side has been coaxed out to refreshing effect by the cool 2017 season. Rosehip, red cherries and savoury, sun-dried tomato notes are carried by tart morello cherry acidity and nicely presented, fine-ground tannins.
