Description

Until 2009, Château Moulin Riche was the second wine of Château Léoville Poyferré. It was bought alongside Léoville Poyferré in 1920 by the Cuvelier family. Château Moulin Riche's vineyards are located on what is considered one of the finest gravel rises in the Médoc producing wines of exceptional quality.

Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with each plot being vinified separately. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was aged in oak, with 70% being new, for 18-20 months.

The 2017 Moulin Riche has really developed nicely in élevage. Smoke, spice, tobacco and new leather meld into the creamy, voluptuous finish of this engaging Saint-Julien. The supple, juicy style offers quite a bit of immediacy. The blend is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. 91pts, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
