Another great new addition to our range.
The Mediterranean estate of Château Galoupet has existed on the map since the 18th century and in 1955 the terroir became a Cru Classé Côtes de Provence, one of just 18 in the region. Over the years, Château Galoupet came under the management of different proprietors, nurtured by some and neglected by others. The current owners arrived just in time in July 2019, to restore the ecosystem to its previous glory. In spring 2022, they presented their first Provence wines in organic conversion.
Château Galoupet aims to express the full potential of the terroir through exceptional gastronomic premium rosé wines with notable ageing potential. The Cru Classé Rosé is a complex, full-bodied and high quality rosé wine with a long and saline finish. It is a terroir-driven and organic wine crafted with 6 grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Tibouren, Rolle, Cinsault and Sémillon.
Caring for nature from ground to glass through an organic rosé wine, sustainability is deeply rooted in our vision at Château Galoupet. The owners believe that sustainable wine and restoring dialogue with nature are fundamental to creating and contributing to the preservation of a sanctuary for biodiversity, as well as crafting exceptional Côtes de Provence wines to inspire a new generation of winemakers and wine lovers. They work to help indigenous wildlife to flourish, with bees at the heart of a sustainable ecosystem, while also supporting neighboring winegrowers as part of an ever-growing community with shared values.
The estates commitment to sustainable wine goes beyond the vineyard and winemaking to eco-friendly wine bottle packaging as well. Due to the reality that packaging accounts for 40% of carbon emissions in the wine industry, they made it a mission to find a more sustainable alternative to a regular bottle, more sustainable wine packaging in line with a long-term vision to serve as custodians of the land. Château Galoupet Cru Classé Côtes de Provence is presented in a distinctive and lightweight (499g) amber bottle made from 85% recycled glass. Not only does doing so prevent waste, but it also saves energy during the production process and transportation. This has been possible by the development and creation of a lightweight bottle, with full traceability and transparency.
The nose is rich and very expressive, with notes of summer fruit, yellow peach and floral notes. Exotic notes are also present, such as mango and fresh pineapple. Lastly, we find citrus notes such as pomelo. On the palate, the expression of fruit deepens, with a fine balance between the exotic and the Mediterranean aromas. The aromatic harmony is supported by a silky structure, with a complex, saline finish.
