Description
Domaine Girault is situated in Bué, a small village in the heart of Sancerre. The Domaine has been in the Girault family for eight generations and is currently run by Patrick Girault. This great lineage is set to continue with the ninth generation. Patrick's son, Adrien, who studied viticulture, is now heavily involved. He does all the work in the vineyards from pruning to harvesting and has been vinifying the wines for the last 5 years.
The domaine's 12 hectares are planted on the famous slopes of Grand Chemarin, Petit Chemarin and Chêne Marchand, stretching from Bué to the neighbouring villages of Thauvenay and Vinon. Seventy five percent of the vineyards are planted with Sauvignon Blanc and the remaining 25% with Pinot Noir.
The Sancerre Rosé Le Grand Moulin is made from 100% Pinot Noir from vines aged 15 to 30 years. It is a beautiful salmon-pink rosé with delicate aromas and flavours of red berry fruit and a crisp refreshig finish. A great wine for Summer barbecues and salads.
