Francesco Boschis - Delightful wines from Piemonte

Mario Boschis manages this lovely estate in Dogliani (Piemonte) supported by his two sons Paolo and Marco. The estate has been family run since 1919, and today follows a deeply thoughtful farming program that includes pesticide reduction, no fertilisers and returning manure to the soils to promote vigour and health. In the winery, vinification is traditional with no filtration.

Dolcetto di Dogliani has always been acknowledged as the finest expression of the varietal and Boschis produce a range of Dolcetto from many different plots in Dogliani at altitudes of around 550 meters above sea level.  There’s a springtime freshness about these Dolcetto that make them classic Dogliani wines: fine, floral and reminiscent of wild cherries.

The delightful labels are watercolours and engravings of Teresita Terreno, a local artist. Each one represents a particular season and distinctive features of this area. 

These extraordinary Dolcetto, Fresia and Barbera wines are truly magical and this year's stable from one of the most understated and humble producers you could ever meet are perhaps the best we have seen yet.  Try them and we know you will not be disappointed!
