This stunning value wine is from Pierre Rostaing’s highly impressive venture in the Languedoc.

Puech Noble was originally named Puech Chaud and it is located in a relatively cool microclimate, in the Côteaux du Languedoc near Nîmes. The wines feature a slight garrique character and this is the only hint that the wines do not originate from the Northern Rhône. Bought in the late 1990s by René Rostaing and his wife, the estate gave René a chance to produce Syrah on the limestone soils so beloved by many French growers. Puech Noble is now producing one of the South’s most beautiful wines, mainly from Syrah, but also including small quantities of Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Rolle along with an impressive line up of white varietals. These wines are beautifully expressive, rich, elegant, ethereal and hedonistic, yet modest and subtle.

A blend of Vermentino, Grenache Blanc, and Viognier, the 2021 Languedoc Puech Noble Blanc is a juicy, citrus, pear, and honeysuckle-scented white that’s medium-bodied, nicely balanced and has a clean, dry finish.
