Fabrizio Iuli's winery is located in a small little town called Montaldo in the somewhat undiscovered region of Monferrato in Piedmont. The population of Montaldo is 110 people and counting... very slowly. In addition to the mixed and poor soil type in the vineyards (which helps the strength and vigour of the vines), there is, importantly, a vein of limestone that runs directly through the property – giving an amazing acidity and special character to the wines.
Fabrizio Iuli interferes as little as possible with the natural process of fermentation and ageing, uses natural yeasts, and does not fine or filter the wines. In recent years, he has been reviving rare indigenous grapes such as Slarina, Grignolino and Baratuciat.
"I was born here and have always lived here. I like to make my wines in the Piemonte tradition, (cement tanks and wooden barrels). Being part of the area of white terroir, of mineral soil, I try to make gentle wines. I like wine which is easy to drink, not banal, possibly elegant, fresh, dynamic and crunchy. " Fabrizio Iuli,
A wonderfull new addition to our range., perfect for when you fancy a lighter style red but also loads of soft, juicy fruit. The nose is incredibly pure with layers of luschious, ripe fruit on the palate, this is so easy drinking and instantly appealing. It's also amazing value for Nebbiolo from Piedmont!
