When Christian Jensen first tasted the vintage gins from London's lost distilleries, he began a journey. Creating a finely balanced gin that honoured these forgotten recipes became his obsession. That's why Jensen's is distilled in small batches, using only traditional gin botanicals. So there's really nothing new about Jensen's, and that's why it's different. Distilled in Bermondsey, London, Jensen's is gin as it was. Gin as it should be.
Bermondsey in the mid-19th Century was both a centre for trade and industry, and a notorious slum. Close to the River Thames and crammed with wharves and warehouses, it was the place where London's food was produced and stored. These days the warehouses are restaurants, and the weekend food markets provide delicacies for locals and visitors alike. And so Bermondsey continues its legacy as ‘London's Larder’. Distilling historical gins in Jensen's converted railway arch with trains thundering overhead, they are proud to be a part of that tradition.
This Dry Martini recipe was expertly crafted by Charlie Thomas, Jensen's Head of Production and Mixologist, ensuring a delightful and well-balanced cocktail experience.
Ingredients:
7 parts Bermondsey dry gin
1 part Nolly Prat vermouth
Citrus zest (for garnish)
Preparation: In a mixing glass, combine 7 parts of Bermondsey dry gin and 1 part of Nolly Prat vermouth. Stir the mixture until it reaches a bitterly cold temperature. Prepare a chilled cocktail glass. Strain the chilled mixture into the cocktail glass. Garnish the cocktail with a dash of citrus zest.
Recommended Serve
The Dry Martini is best served chilled in a classic cocktail glass, such as a Martini glass. To achieve the perfect serving temperature, you can chill the cocktail glass in the freezer beforehand. Once the cocktail is prepared, strain it into the chilled glass and garnish with a dash of citrus zest. For an extra touch of elegance, you can also consider adding a cocktail stirrer or a twist of lemon peel as an alternative garnish. Serve immediately after preparation to fully enjoy the crisp and refreshing flavors of this classic cocktail
