Description

Costières de Nîmes is an appellation in transition. It received full AC status in 1986 and although notionally in the eastern part of the Languedoc, it shares the same topography, soil and climate as the southern Rhône (alluvial terroir of galet stones and sandstone). Château Saint-Cyrgues is beginning to produce quality wines across the board. In the vineyard natural remedies are encouraged and work is done by hand.

The Nîmes/Gard region is the ideal climate to make organic inexpensive “house natural wines”. Salamandre Orange is the result from the folks at Château de Saint-Cyrgues. This wine is a gentle pink-tinged skin-contacter made from pure Grenache Blanc, with a no-added-sulphur it is a light and juicy orange that represents great value for money.
