Description

Siran is a little gem in Margaux and the wines are beautiful. Château Siran has 25 hectares under vine with an average age of 30 years. The soil type is alluvial sandy gravel and the blend generally comprises 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and the remainder Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. After fermentation in stainless steel vats, the wine spends 12-14 months in barriques; about 60-70% are new each year.

A charming wine with a nose of light black fruits. Full-bodied on the palate, with attractive tannins and a subtly lingering finish. Located to the south of the Margaux appellation, S de Siran is the second wine of the famous Château Siran. Considered the little sibling of the main wine, it comes from the same gravel plateau as Château Siran and is matured with the same care. Ideal for drinking in its youth, it is highly regarded and offers terrific value for money.
