Description

A joint venture between two of our favourite winemakers, the hugely talented Rita Marques of Conceito and the legendary Marc Kent of Boekenhoutskloof and Chocolate Block fame.

Rita and Marc founded Companhia de Vinhos Invencível in 2020. The two winemakers, who had previously collaborated in South Africa and in Portugal, now embrace a bigger commitment, acquiring an estate in Casais do Douro. This is their first joint property and the home of the brand.

Número dois is a field blend from 90+ year old vineyards; Rabigato, Códega, Donzelinho branco, Boal, Códega do Larinho. It benefits from 10 Months “elevage” in used French Oak barriques.

The wine has mineral notes with hints of citrus. Long and flavoursome, with judicious flinty, smoky reduction and a saline-edged finish. Super smart wine; super smart buy.
