Description

The 17 hectares of the Domaine Larue are spread from Chassagne-Montrachet, in the south, to Aloxe-Corton, in the north of the Côte de Beaune. The entire palette of Burgundian appellations is found, from regional to prestigious grand cru.

22 cuvees are on offer, 14 in white and 8 in red. The appellation Saint-Aubin rules supreme at the domain, with 9 premier crus allowing the fabulous diversity of its terroirs to be discovered.

Denis and Didier Larue work alongside their sons, Bruno and Vivien. The younger generation continues to learn in contact with men of experience, while bringing a renewed vision of practices in the vineyards and the cellar.

Each parcel at the domain is cultivated with the same care and the same attention. The approach whilst not certified is to embrace organic and biodynamic practices and intervene as little as possible, favouring less compacted, living soils, for example, or by limiting ploughing and vine trimming. In this way, yields are limited.

The white wines are aged in oak barrel over a period that varies from 10 to 18 months, with moderate lees-stirring.

Wines from Larue possess purity, energy, and an invariable minerality derived from the predominant limestone soils of Saint-Aubin. The Larues are meticulous and precise in all aspects of winegrowing and winemaking and their wines reflect these qualities. These wonderful white Burgundies have the additional benefit of being approachable young, although they are tightly wound and can always benefit from a few extra years of bottle age.
