Luigi Pira has been growing grapes and making wine in Serralunga since the 1950s, the Barolo village most notable for its intense perfume and structure. With several crus in the village, the Piras have fantastic parcels in the Marenca and Margheria vineyards (totalling 1 hectare), as well as the legendary cru Vignarionda - widely considered the best site in Serralunga and one that defines the soul of Barolo.
The vinification of Barbera d'Alba Superiore takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for about 15-18 days. Aging is traditional, in 25 hl Slavonian oak casks for 12 months.
This exceptional Barbera shows an intense ruby red color to the eye. Elegant bouquet, with a fine balance of oak spices and berries. Its strong but well-balanced acidity dominates the taste. It is an enveloping and extremely full-bodied wine.
Intense ruby red with violet reflections, the nose is young and fresh, with fruity and floral tones. Well-balanced and persistent with a long and complex finish
