Thomas Morey, the younger son of Bernard Morey, represents the tenth generation of this well-known and highly regarded Chassagne wine family. He grew up with intimate knowledge of his grandparents' holdings and then worked very closely for 12 years with his parents. He established his cellar in the old family house in Chassagne-Montrachet in 2006. Thomas is currently diligently working his 9 hectares of vines, two-thirds white and one-third red, very quickly establishing himself as one of the bright young stars of the appellation. His style is different from that of his father, in as much as the wines tend to be slightly leaner and tighter in profile - perhaps closer to the modern interpretation of quality white Burgundy. Modest new oak (30%) usage allows a purity of fruit to shine through in Thomas’s wines each and every vintage.
