Viña Chocalán Syrah 'Origen' Maipo Valley 2018

Viña Chocalán was founded by Guillermo Toro in Chile’s Maipo Valley in 1998. The company’s 340 hectare estate is still run by the Toro family, headed by Aida Toro Harnecker.  

Winemaker Fernando Espina leads a dedicated team in a modern winery, using stainless steel and high-grade oak. The Toro family strive to produce wines that "reflects our love to our family and our everyday care in producing the best quality wines from our privileged terroirs."

This Syrah is one of the very best coming out of Chile, thanks to the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean on Chocalan's Maipo valley vineyards. The addition of some Viognier in the cuvée adds a floral perfume and palate texture to the bramble fruit, liquorice and white pepper.
