UPDATE - 18 March 2020

We are all living through strange and uncertain times. Many of you will be working from home voluntarily or under company instruction in order to keep yourself and your family as safe as you can. At Philglas & Swiggot we have the same concerns. We have made a number of changes to our operations following the outbreak of COVID-19 and assure you that we are taking every possible step to maintain the health and well-being of our customers and store teams.

Firstly, we are going to stop accepting cash paymentsfor the time being. While its inconvenient for some of you, already the vast majority of our payments are by card so we hope it’s a sensible imposition.

Secondly, we have indefinitely postponed all tasting events to reduce the gathering of larger numbers of people. That means any tickets we have sold recently (for the Charles Heidsieck & Cantina Terlan event, for example) will be credited or refunded.

We have initiated more regular cleaning of the most active areas of the store(the counter and till areas, the front door) with alcohol sprays (what else) and will process your orders as quickly as possible if you want to expedite your purchase.

We are upgrading our order-to-deliver service. Browse our website, email our stores or call and speak with us to place orders via phone, text or computer. We can email you an invoice directly from our tills which you can pay from your phone or computer– you can but won’t need to come into the store

We are extending our delivery terms to all of our local customers as well as our loyal friends around the UK.

Day 3 began with a few sore heads from the night before, luckily the beds in the Dr Loosen guest house are extremely comfortable and a freshly cooked breakfast went down a treat. Next stop Jean Stodden Winery and Donnhoff.

I was fortunate enough to be invited on the recent Masters of Riesling trip by renowned German importer 'ABS Agencies' this past June. This trip involved visiting some of the most prestigious German wineries across the country over four wine filled days, sounds fun right.
