Pierre Peters is a grower Champagne with 19 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Blancs. Based in the famed village of Le Mesnil sur Oger, the family has been making Champagne for 6 generations and Grand Cru Blanc des Blancs since 1919. The estate is currently run by Rodolphe Péters, a sixth-generation grower who studied oenology and business before taking over the domaine in 2007. They are a genuine Chardonnay specialist with 100% of their vineyards dedicated to this grape. Their plots sit amongst the greatest Grand Cru villages of Champagne - Avize, Les Mesnil sur Oger, Cramant and Oger.

The Cuvée de Réserve comprises a remarkable 50% reserve wine (wine aged for one or more years in the cellar) with an incredible system of management. Started in 1988 is the modified solera, a method of perpetual enrichment that sees wine removed and systematically topped up every year from each of a stainless steel tank, a single Stockinger barrel and a concrete vessel. Bright and linear, this shows the terroir of Mesnil with lemon and chalky finesse dominating over the brioche notes of winemaking. A fabulous combination of acacia, almond and fresh bread fairly dance across the palate while the high concentration of reserve wine comes through with breadth and power on the finish. Dosage around 6-7 g/l.
