Arguably the most aromatically fascinating white in the Old Vine Series range, this is an exquisitely complex blend of Semillon Blanc, Semillon Gris, Palomino, Chenin Blanc, and Muscat of Alexandria. The name means 'the footpath' and this is one of South Africa's most remote vineyards, a 1.4ha site planted on their own roots between 1900 and 1928. It's a veritable treasure chest of South Africa's winemaking history that has somehow managed to survive the twin scourges of phylloxera and the extremely hot, dry climate.
Inseparable since birth, the varieties are all picked together and fermented together in old wooden casks. Like all of Eben's wines these are as organic and natural as one can get. Gorgeous, wondrous and beautiful. There is no other wine like it on the planet.
Extremely limited quantities.
