Geyserville is a single vineyard, field blend of Zinfandel (60%) and its complementary varieties Carignane (24%), Petite Sirah (12%) and Mourvedre (4%). It's the home of the oldest vines farmed by Ridge, with a small patch of the Geyserville vineyard being 130 years old.
There are masses of flavour in the blackberry, ginger peel, gravel, plums and liquorice. Thanks to the high proportion of Carignan the acidity is high and refreshing, the tannins elegant and gravelly. 2014 is another drought year, the Zinfandel % is lower as a result. A wine of superb concentration, enjoy over the next 7-8 years.
Farmed with organic methods and sustainable practices this as close to natural winemaking as you get without calling it a natural wine.
