One of our favourite wines and a real crowd pleaser. A wine produced by the Pulenta family who moved from Italy to Argentina 104 years ago and planted their first vines in Mendoza. Grapes are grown at up to 1,000m altitude allowing them to achieve ripeness of flavour while retaining acidity. “Structured, yet elegant”, the Italian winemaking heritage that nurtures acid and tannin comes through, making this wine an ideal food-partner.
Ablend of Malbec from Agrelo (980m asl) and some fruit from the even higher Uco Valley (up to 1,200m) from vineyards planted 25-40 years ago. The wine is aged in a combination of 50% new and 50% used French oak barrels. Thanks to the high altitdue the flavours here are built around strawberry and cherry with notes of violet and lilac, while the new oak brings richness and chocolaty depth.
