Description

Mackmyra Swedish Whisky is the pioneer and innovator who started the Swedish whisky expedition. The whisky is created with Swedish ingredients, with no additives, and by a climate friendly distillation technique.

In Sweden juniper has been used to season food for generations. Now you can enjoy the timeless flavour of juniper smoked intertwined with that of Swedish peat, both of which are used to dry our Mackmyra's floor-malted barely. This was aged in Ex-Bourbon (30L — 200L), Oloroso (200L), American Oak (200L) and finished in Birch tree wine and Cherry wine casks.

Moment Efva is an elegant single malt whisky produced from a creative collaboration with jewellery designer, Efva Attling. Following a guided tour at Mackmyra’s main storage in Bodås, Efva has – together with Master Blender, Angela D’Orazio – handpicked some of Mackmyra's finest casks. The 19 casks that caught Efva’s attention were mainly Oloroso, American oak and ex-Bourbon barrels, a majority of which had been saturated with Swedish birch tree wine. A request to create more prominent sweetness resulted in the use of a cask which had previously stored cherry wine. The result is a sophisticated and fruity whisky, with soft notes of oak and birch, combined with slight spicy tones of red berries. The edition is ornamented with a polished silver cork, designed by Efva. 

This is a fine and layered whisky subtle vanilla spice and a whiff of cedar wood and spiced dried fruit aromas. On the palate it has a distinctive herbal, bayleaf like flavour with a subtle bitterness. Real joy to drink and the special packaging makes this a perfect gift, too.
