This St-Julien château was bought by the Japanese Suntory group in the mid 90’s with the aim of bringing quality up to a new level. The 2000 and 2005 vintages have been superlative and are drinking very well at the moment.
'Very bright crimson. Mineral, lightly tarry nose. Very good but very firm tannins. Only medium weight. Quite dramatic but in minor key in terms of weight and intensity. Clean and fresh.' Jancis Robinson
