While Klein Constantia are justifiably recognised for their outstanding sweet wine, Vin de Constance, it is with Sauvignon Blanc that they're building a real reputation for dry table wines. Winemaker Matt Day loves the variety and has done stages with Pascal Jolivet in Sancerre, resulting in a joint venture wine called Metis, and a host of single vineyard cuvees.
This is their estate blend of Sauvignon Blanc, which balances a delicate combination of elegant tropical fruit with a refreshing background of greenage and gosseberry. The palate tingles with a savoury minerality showcasing the Klein Constantia terroir. Wonderful now but can age for several years.
