Description

The Domaine was founded by Daniel in 1973 and is Located in the heart of the golden triangle(Arbois, Salins-les-Bains and Poligny). In 1982, he made his first harvest into wine in his own cellars and began to sell to consumers. In 2003, their son Philippe returned to the estate to lend a hand in the winemaking and in 2013 took charge of the vineyard.

This wine comes from around a hectare of some of the oldest vines, planted in the commune of Les Arsures, situated at 347 meters above sea level, in the area known as "en Grevillière". The soil here is preferred by the Trousseau grape. It is made up of a thick layer of clay with a gritty surface lying over a limestone dome. The clay is produced by the decomposition of the limestone. The vines face due south and thus benefit from the sun all day long. The whole of the vineyard is cultivated using methods that respect the environment. Thirty-three percent of the ground between the vines is left covered with grass whilst the remaining 67% is worked by digging and raking. The yields are rationalised by pruning and by bunch thinning.

A strong garnet colour with a bouquet of morello cherry, liquorice and pepper. On the palate, the wine has a fresh attack which gives way to a powerful and full-bodied wine with fine tannins and a finish of sour cherry and spices.
