Description

Gérard Bertrand first joined in a wine harvest and discovered his passion for wine in 1975, in the vineyards of the Villemajou Estate in Corbières. He went on to learn more about wine for 12 years alongside his father, Georges Bertrand. The plots intended for this exceptional vintage come from a Miocene croup, located on the unique and restricted locality, named “La Forge” by the cadastre. The assembly of the two grape varieties gives this cuvée a beautiful aromatic expression (Syrah) and reveals the nobility of the wine (Carignan). The Villemajou property is the historic cradle of the Gérard Bertrand family and was the spearhead of the Boutenac appellation, the first classified growth of Corbières recognized by the INAO (National Institute of Appellations of Origin).

This wine truly represents a great expression of the Languedoc terroir from which it comes. It strikes the perfect balance between power and elegance, with soft tannins, caramelized red fruit flavours and a long gently-spiced finish.
