Vieux Télégraphe is one of the most renowned estates of the Southern Rhône. Vieux Télégraphe is a large estate blessed with one of the finest locations in the area, the particularly hot microclimate is such that the Bruniers, owners of the estate for almost a century, are able to harvest as much as a week ahead of their neighbours. Vieux Télégraphe's blend is a typical one for the whites of the area, with Clairette and Grenache making up the bukl of the blend with Roussanne and Bourboulenc accounting for the remainder.

From one of the most renowned estates in the Southern Rhône - Vieux Télégraphe owns some of the finest sites in the area. A consistently high quality Châteauneuf, capable of ageing and improving with careful cellaring. Brothers Daniel and Frederic Brunier represent the third generation of Bruniers to run this famed estate. With a large (173 acre) contiguous vineyard, a rarity in the appellation.

One of my favourite whites from the south of France is Daniel Brunier’s Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc and his 2019 is another stunning effort. Always a blend of Clairette, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, and Bourboulenc brought up in foudre, this beauty boasts an exotic nose of honeyed peach, quince, crushed citrus, and salty minerality, all with a floral edge. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with flawless balance and beautifully integrated acidity, enjoy this concentrated white anytime over the coming 15-20 years. 95 Points, Jeb Dunnock
