Description

Château Bellegrave lies in the south of Pauillac, surrounded by plots of the greatest classified growths. The historic property was owned by the Van-Der-Voort family until 1997, when Jean-Paul Meffre purchased the estate. Since that time, the Meffre family has invested heavily to restore the property, upgrade the cellars, and acquire additional vineyard. The Château and cellars and the lion’s share of the 8.3 hectares of the vineyards are located just south of the town of Pauillac, neighboring Latour, Lynch Bages, and Pichon Longueville. 3 hectares are located in Artigues, next to Grand-Puy-Lacoste. All of the vignoble is planted on the deep gravel deposits for which the area is known, and from which the estate derives its name.

Ideal ripening in 2016 enabled us to make very rich, deeply-coloured wines with no heaviness or hints of cooked fruit. They are very fresh on both the nose and the palate and have huge ageing potential.
