Tucked away in the village of Pernand-Vergelesses at the northern end of the Côte de Beaune and just behind the hill of Corton, Vincent Rapet is crafting consistently high quality expressions of his Burgundian terroirs. This long-established family owned and run domaine comprises 20 hectares of vineyard producing authentically styled wines that show off the character of their origins with much conviction. Vincent is a young talent who, alongside his wife Sylvette, shines brightly in this less well-known and often over-looked appellation. Apart from offering a roll-call of both ‘village’ and 1ers Crus Pernand-Vergelesses wines, that offer typically dark fruited reds and cool, linear whites, his stars include his a very fine white Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne, of which he has significant holdings, and two richly flavoured, well-structured Grands Crus red Corton.
