Monte del Frà is located in the heart of the Custoza area, on the east side of Lake Garda and only 15 Km away from the centre of Verona. It was founded by brothers Eligio and Claudio Bonomo in 1958. The farm owns 140 hectares. Its history is linked to the grand crus such as Cà del Magro, il vigneto Colombara, Grottino, Staffalo, Monte Godi, Monte Fitti, Mascarpine, Bagolina, Pezzarara and Monte del Frà. For the past decade or so, the Bonomo family have also owned a beautiful winery in the Valpolicella Classica village of Fumane. The Bonomo family are passionate about nature and believe that the key to great wine is the emphasis put on the cultivation of the vines. The vineyards are planted in Guyot in the areas of Cusotza, Bardolino and Lugana and with the classic "pergola" system in the Valpolicella Classica. The grapes are of very high quality, since the maximum fruit production per plant is 2-3kg.
A blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, this wine is made from hand-harvested grapes from the south-eastern slopes around breezy Lake Garda. The berries are gently crushed for minimal extraction, undergoing a long, delicate fermentation, resulting in a fresh, easy-drinking red. The wine has an intensely floral nose, with notes of cherries and wild herbs. Lightly spicy, with fragrant acidity.
