Domaine Jeannin-Naltet has been family owned and run for 6 generations since 1858. Comprising 8.5 hectares in total, the domaine can proudly claim that 80% is classified as 1er Cru. In 2011, Benoît Eschard, a qualified engineer from the renowned “Arts et Métiers” school, took over the family estate from his wife’s uncle. Since then, Benoît has completed his winemaking studies in Beaune and set about the task of considerably improving the quality and consistency of the wines. Introducing new practices into the vineyards as well as in the cellar he has re-orientated the estate to a meticulous way of working, with attention to detail at every step. Considerable financial investment has been & continues to be matched by a similar commitment of time, effort and precision. The jewel in their crown is the eye-catching Mercurey 1er Cru ‘Les Nauges’. A domaine to watch. Sadly Benoît lost 30% of his crop to the ravages of frost, mainly the village Mercurey Rouge, rather than the 1ers Crus.
