Château de Fieuzal is located in the heart of the historic Graves region and has belonged to Brenda and Lochlann Quinn since 2001. The estate has existed for around 150 years.Combining tradition and modernity, the estate is lovingly tended like a garden, with each grape vine meticulously managed using environmentally sustainable methods.
The renovation of the cellar was completed in 2011. This cellar features a unique combination of wood, concrete and stainless-steel vats to enhance the quality of each vintage and grape variety. Château de Fieuzal is renowned for the finesse of its white wines and the purity of its red wines, vintage after vintage.
The 2019 de Fieuzal, tasted from two sample bottles, has a clean and pure bouquet with perfumed, quite floral scents that infuse the blackberry and bilberry. The oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, saline in the mouth and spicier than some of its fellow Pessac-Léognans. Moderate depth, a distinct marine influence emerges towards the finish that lingers nicely. Could it have been better with more flair? Maybe, but it's a fine de Fieuzal. 91-93 Neal Martin
