An acclaimed producer, Domaine Henri Bourgeois has been cultivating wines now for 10 generations and by the look of it the next ones intend to carry on. Renowned world wide for their "Cote des Monts Damned", slopes so steep they are called "cursed", yet since the eleventh century noblemen would try to outbid each other to get a small parcel of this land. Famed for producing no less than seven different cuvees of Sancerre and that's just the whites; there are three reds too! The Vignes Blanche is grown on the hard limestone soils called "caillottes". This is the most approachable of the Sancerres with fragrant currant and sherbett-y attack.
