Julian Haart 'Mosel Riesling' 2013

Whilst Julian Haart’s first vintage was in 2011 after tasting his 2013 Mosel Riesling, you wouldn't be alone in thinking this was produced by an old hand. He has learned under the guidance of Egon Müller, Klaus Peter Keller, Heymann-Löwenstein (winemaker Rheinhard Löwenstein), and Emrich-Schönleber (winemaker Werner Schönleber) compiling quite an impressive resume and indicative of the quality and attention to detail in the wines.

Julien owns small parcels of old vines in the Piesporter Schubertslay (ungrafted vines up to 110 years old) and also the incredibly steep Wintricher Ohligsberg (50-year-old vines). He tends to try and adopt a "Burgundy/Bourgogne" style hierarchy where this particular wine, the "Mosel Riesling" is similar to that of the regional Bourgogne AOC, in this case reflecting the style of the Mosel. Now whilst this may be toward the bottom of the pyramid, this wine is anything but.

The Mosel Riesling presents, pure fruit, the signature mineral notes of slate and  mouth watering crispness.
