Lost & Found Carignan Mourvedre Cinsault 2016

Lost & Found is the vision of Master Sommelier Geoff Kruth, someone we have come to know well on our recent trips to California. We are now the exclusive importer of Geoff's wines into the UK. As one of America's most respected wine professionals, Geoff brings to the winery a unique aesthetic and uncompromising commitment to quality.

A terrific little blend of ancient vineyards from Mendocino County (Carignan) in the north of California, and from the Contra Costa County (Mourvedre) which encompasses the eastern Bay area of San Francisco.

The Carignan vineyard was planted in the 1940s and brings a rich, red liquorice fruit character, while the Mourvedre was planted in 1890 and brings perfume and savoury tannins. The warm continental climate of Mendocino allows a rich generosity of flavour to develop in the Carignan, while the cooler, coastal influence on the Mourvedre keep this fresh and gently savoury. This is a perfect wine for drinking and enjoying young with a rack of slow cooked pork ribs glazed in bbq and paprika sauce.
