A new DO created especially for this wine made by one of Spain's most famous producers Alvaro Palacios. This is outback Spain, an arid landscape devoid of any green yet Alvaro has staked his reputation on it.
The wine is made from Garnacha, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Picapol Noir. It needs to be decanted for several hours and served alongside pork or beef, or cheese. At first it is all muscle and brawn, minerals and earth, then with air it becomes beguiling silky & ravishing. Rather like a rugby player on Strictly Come Dancing who finds he can actually dance!
